Welcome to 'The Old Goat Net' for Amateur Radio Operators. This net is open to all licensed amateur radio operators and is held every Wednesday at 2400Z (1900L Eastern Time) on 28.360 USB.
SWLs are welcome and can check-in by e-mailing your Name to wd8mbe@sbcglobal.net. Also, Hams that can hear Net Control but Net Control can't hear them, can check-in by using the same e-mail address.
Net Manager is: Tom, WD8MBE. Net Control is on a voluntary basis and any licensed Ham can request to act as Net Control.
This Blog was created so Amateur Radio Operators can post their comments, opinions or even suggest topics to be discussed.
The main purpose of this net is for New Hams to learn from Old Hams and visa-versa. We mostly discuss amateur related topics like antennas, interfacing, layout of ham shacks and other areas. After a general discussion we usually go to a general Rag-Chew.
A few of us local hams here in Stark County, Ohio joked with each other about being 'Old Goats.' So I decided to start 'The Old Goat Net'. The term 'Old Goat' does not imply that you are an Old Goat or that you are Old. We do not want to offend anyone. However, you as individual would know if you could be classified as an Old Goat.
Well enough of an introduction to 'The Old Goat Net' blog. Please feel free to post a comment, questions or other areas of interest. Please keep your post clean and remember everyone's opinion is valued.
Thank you for visiting our blog.
